He is then surprised to find out that Elise is going to France and is leaving him. Clearly Kiri is still chasing Hiroki but he is not really focused on her and is only giving monosyllabic responses. Kiri turns up and tries to talk to him but he only has eye's for Elise. Hiroki must be realising that he can't have both Elise and Kiri in his life.Īt the school Hiroki is standing at the window looking at Elise. Home sweet home, they return home from the hospital but when Kiri rings and Elise quickly leaves. They then have a meaningful look into each others eyes. basically telling Hiroki that she is growing up and is not a kid and that he needs to make up his mind and is not trapped looking after her if he want to go after Kiri. And she says Red is beautiful (on the Christmas tree) - I'll be fine. Elise tries to say she is not interested but no one would really be convinced by her words. Then Elise runs off but is eventually found by Hiroki in the garden. Kiri runs off and leaving a clearly surprised Hiroki looking at Elise (and not Kiri). Why is Kiri so shocked that Elise has a crush on Hiroki that she drops the vase? Even as a male Hiroki should have enough clues by now to know he is wanted by Elise. The next day Hiroki is thinks about the night Elise and he had together and does not want Kiri to come to visiting with him. This is the point where they started to become lovers. She asks Hiroki to get into bed with her and then moves it to the next stage by holding his hand with fingers interweaved. Elise see Kiri and Hiroki moments and is upset. Kiri starts to feels bad about taking Oniichan away from Elise and basically breaking up a family. So Hiroki head home to a lonely house and must have received a phone call to say Elise was hit by a car! He probably wanted and needed company and support at that moment but is refused and she goes away frowning. This is clearly a missed opportunity for Kiri. In ep21 Hiroki is lost but when he asks Kiri if she wants to get dinner she says no. Is this a subconscious wish that there relationship can possibly move to a higher level? Thus one of the important moments in their relationship is when Hiroki understands Elise has moved on from needing him as a brother/father. Hiroki always says he wants Elise to stop being a child reliant on him. Would Kiri be happy with the simple life Hiroki seems to dream of? This would seem to imply that Hiroki and Elise are on the same wave length and better suited. When asked what he does at Christmas he talks about enjoying simple relaxing things with Elise and says the city is too busy. When Hiroki dreams about a life with Kiri he seem to be thinking about a relaxed and comfortable life he already has with Elise and there is certainly no deep sexual passion. I re-watched the last 4 episodes and it is never clear who will ultimately win Hiroki with both Elise and Kiri seeming to swing in and out of favour.
